This semester we polished up on letters and their sounds. She learned this in preschool but we started with review. She is doing great with her phonics and writing. She flies through all her school work like she's been doing it for a a lot longer....We have our routine down pretty good. Monday and Thursday are our school days. (In Kindergarten it's alot easier to get done.) We work on Writing, Phonics, Reading, Math and Spanish. Wednesday is Gymnastics, Kids Choir and AWANA(this is where she works on her bible verses).
In Spanish she learned numbers 1-10, "Me llamo Molly", Hola, Adios, the colors (blanco, cafe, negro, morado, verde, azul, amarillo, naranja, rojo), and shapes (triangulo, circulo, estrella, ovalo, rectangulo, cuadrado and rhombo). ** She struggles with Cuadrado and Rhombo but gets them with hints.**
In Gymnastics she finally got her backbend standup and moved up to the next level (she is now on the Young Intermediate level). She has a meet coming up soon and is hoping for another trophy.
In AWANA she has learned (1John 4:14, Psalm 147:5, Acts 16:31, 1Cor. 15:3-4, James 2:10, John 20:31, Psalm 118:1, John 4:19, Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:31, Romans 3:23, Col. 1:3, John 7:17, 1 Peter 1:25, John 14:6, and the 1st 17 books of the New Testament (Mathew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, Romans, 1st and 2nd Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Phillipians, Colossians, 1st and 2nd Thesolonians, 1st and 2nd Timothy and Titus).
In Math we progressed through numbers, adding, time and. pennies
In Reading we read 5 books that taught short and long vowel sounds. She is doing really well with her reading. She's not reading novels yet but she can read basic words by sounding them out. We do struggle with her desire to read though. Not like her mother, I read all the time when I was little but we'll get there.....
So most of you will find this boring but it's a part of our life so I'll share it.
